Her Crown of Service 

Her Crown of Service is a specialized program dedicated to women veterans experiencing hair loss who require a cranial prosthesis. Through compassionate, personalized care, we support each client with dignity and respect while guiding them through the process of selecting a medically necessary, custom cranial prosthesis.

As an approved vendor with the Department of Veterans Affairs, our salon /clinic is honored to work directly with the VA to provide seamless service and support. It is our privilege to care for those who have served, and we proudly thank you for your service.

Steps to Begin the Program!

A heartfelt thank you to the women who have served or are currently serving in our armed forces. Today, we’d like to guide you through the process of obtaining a cranial prosthesis, a medically necessary, custom-designed wig—through coverage provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We’re pleased to share that our clinic is an approved VA vendor, allowing us to support eligible veterans with personalized care and seamless coordination.

We invite you to walk through each step of our Her Crown of Service Program with us, as we make the process simple, supportive, and centered around your comfort, confidence, and well-being.

 

Step 1:  Your Eligibility

First things first, you need to know that the VA covers cranial prostheses at 100% for eligible veterans. Eligibility usually requires medical necessity, which means that you've experienced hair loss due to medical conditions or treatments.

 

Step 2: Scheduling an Appointment with the VA

To get started with the process you'll want to schedule an appointment with your VA healthcare provider. Discuss your hair loss, hair thinning concerns and the impact it's having on your life. Download the form HERE

 

Step 3: Getting a Prescription

If your healthcare provider agrees that a cranial prosthesis is medically necessary, a prescription will be written for your unit. This prescription is needed before we can begin any services.

Step 4: Schedule a Hair Replacement Consultation with Studio Glamour

Once you have been approved for your cranial prosthesis you are ready to reach out to us. During the consultation, we'll discuss what you desire, create the mold, get the measurements of your head, and select the unit base, color, density, length, style and texture of the hair.

 

Step 5: Creating Your Cranial Prosthesis

Next, all information for your personalized unit will be sent to our team of skilled craftsmen will begin creating your personalized cranial prosthesis. This process usually takes between 4 to 6 weeks.

 

Step 6: Unit Fitting 

Once your cranial prosthesis is ready, we'll schedule a fitting. We'll make any necessary adjustments to ensure your comfort and satisfaction.

 

Step 7: Billing the VA

Once you’re completely comfortable and confident with your new cranial prosthesis, we will handle billing directly with the Department of Veterans Affairs. As an approved VA vendor, we are authorized to bill the VA on your behalf, allowing for a seamless and stress-free experience.
